All (or at least a little) About Me...
My name is Annalisa Corell. My friends call me Copper—short for Copperanna, the title of a song written by an old friend (while he uses my name, the song itself is not about me).
I am a non-traditional student attending Utah Valley University (UVU) and seeking a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media with an emphasis on Information Media Management. Beginning Fall 2009, I will be a senior (in credit hours) with about four semesters to go!
Do I know what I want to be when I grow up? I have an idea, but am still “undecided.” Possibilities include:
- Start a business (CopperAnna Productions) and focus on offering web design, project management, film production, training, and documentation of processes, policies, and procedures.
- Continue working for Brigham Young University (BYU) in their Media Arts Program, but move up from administrative assistant to Media Arts Project Development Project Manager and Producer.
- Become certified as a seminary teacher for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and combine seminary teaching with teaching media in a high school setting.
- Work towards a Masters in Instructional Psychology and Technology from BYU.
- Move to Tonga and teach, work, and enjoy visiting the friendly Pacific Island groups!
I am a single parent with an amazing and gifted teenaged daughter. She motivates and inspires me to be better. It was the desire to set an example for her on the importance of education that motivated me to go back to school to gain a college degree after a 21-year hiatus. It is my hope, as the quote at the top of the page hints, that she will have the strength and courage I lacked as my twenties approached.
